B&B with Gardens on the Border of Lower Normandy and Pays de la Loire
La Basse Cour (meaning "The Farm Yard") is an 18th century Normandy farmhouse set by a wildfowl lake, with beautiful gardens and views of countryside and forest just 8km from the medieval town of Alençon and 40km from Le Mans.
Close to the medieval towns of Alençon and Le Mans, this 18th-century stone-and-timber farmhouse offers a tranquil location with extensive grounds comprising a wildfowl lake, beautiful gardens and views of farmland and forests beyond.
The accommodation comprises three immaculate en-suite guest rooms with showers. All rooms have characterful exposed beams and garden views, and are tastefully furnished and equipped with radio alarm, hair-dryer, toiletries and WiFi. A well equipped sitting room with library, English and French magazines, tourist information and refreshments is at guests' disposal. Picnic places are provided on the terraces and in the grounds.
Near to home you can explore the lovely villages and valleys of the Alpes Mancelles and the Perche; the medieval towns and antique shops of Le Mans, Alençon, Sées and Mayenne; dozens of delightful gardens and châteaux. We are also centrally located for day trips to beautiful Chartres Cathedral, Mont St Michel, Monet's Gardens at Giverny and the D-Day Beaches.
A wooded fishing lake, tennis courts, boules, mountain bike rental and walking routes are on hand. Close to Ancinnes there are riding stables, golf, canoe-kayak, medieval towns and villages, chateaux and gardens. We have compiled a series of day trips and itineraries on our website to help you discover the sights.

Cancellation or Curtailment
2 months or more before arrival date: deposit refunded less 25€ handling charge.
8 days or more before arrival date: 50% of total price must be paid, minimum 50€ per room.
7 days or fewer before arrival date, non-arrival or visit curtailed: 100% of total price must be paid.
Cancellation fees are payable regardless of whether a deposit has been paid and whatever the reason for cancellation.
Deposits for Le Mans events are refundable only if the room(s) can be rebooked.
