We offer old-fashioned home cooking. We use only the highest quality ingredients and bake fresh every day, using no preservatives. The breads we bake for taking home are also served in our restaurant, bringing their distinctive freshness, flavour and quality to everything on the menu.
Kitchen Witch Our sourdough is prepared with great care, using our own special techniques. We allow the dough to age well to fully develop its hearty, distinctive character. We also bake a number of other specialty breads, including whole-grain breads and focaccia.
In addition to our regular artisan breads, we offer several hearty gluten free breads, and our own flour and gluten-free tortillas. We bake more than a dozen delicious varieties of bread, although not all varieties are available every day. We invite you to gather with your friends and business associates for a delicious meal, or escape for a few moments to enjoy a proper cup of tea or freshly ground coffee.
Our current tea selection includes over sixty varieties of bagged tea, over sixty varieties of premium loose tea and seven blooming teas
Most of the loose teas are also available in our gift shop, in addition to boxes of Higgins & Burke and King Cole tea bags. Blooming teas are available in packages of six buds.
We have owned and operated The Kitchen Witch since 2006.
Early in 2007 we became aware of the local demand for gluten-free products, and our menu was gradually modified to accommodate this need. We established a designated area for preparation of gluten free items, including separate utensils and appliances.
Our menu is now approximately 80% Celiac friendly, but we quickly outgrew the area established for gluten-free foods. We have completed a major expansion, which includes a completely separate and fully equipped gluten-free kitchen.
Tea leaf reading is a mystical art which has been practiced since ancient times. Since people first began drinking tea, they have been fascinated by the shapes left at the bottom of their teacup. Our reader is generally here Saturday through Wednesday when we are open.
